Doll quilts are fun and easy to make. And because of that they are very rewarding since you can be proud of yourself for finishing something! It can take as little as one day to make.

This is the 11th quilt in our series of doll quilts. Finished size is 18 1/2″ square.

Back in the day when letter writing was the primary mode of communication the symbols “X” and “O” were meant to convey hugs and kisses to our special friends and loved ones. And while we can still do it with an email or text message, somehow there was nothing like seeing it written out by hand to really put some meaning behind the message.

This little doll quilt is reminiscent of those sentiments that I hope we haven’t lost. Made up of only one simple block, commonly called “snowball,” it’s so easy to make. Just putting the blocks together in different directions creates this sweet “Xs” and “Os” look thus making up the hugs and kisses.
