This project is very dear to my heart.
I grew up in a time when there was no email or texting or twitter.
It meant so much to go to the mailbox (we had to walk downtown to the post office) and see a card or letter from a friend. Then open it up with excitement knowing that it contained sincere thoughts of endearment from a loved one far away.
I still get excited when I get a card in the mail. Don’t you?
The idea of making them in quilt block designs came easily. The names of the blocks speak for themselves. I think the original block designers (who knows who they were or what they were going through at the time) had friends and family in mind when they thought to name them. “Star of Destiny”, “Friendship star”, “Mother’s Dream”, Baby Bunting”, etc., no doubt started out as quilts gifted to others or kept as a reminder of what’s important in life.
Coupled with the scripture, the card fulfills the Bible verse “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11) I hope you enjoy sharing them as much as I do.
These are handmade quilted greeting cards with traditional quilt blocks themed for all occasions. Fabrics will vary based on availability. Minimum order of four cards, mix and match. Choose from the selection below. I will periodically be adding new cards. And thank you for your time!
